The PTA is voluntary, fun and actively supports the children and the school by organising events and raising funds to buy items the school can’t buy.
During our last Financial Year (April 16 - March 17), we raised over £6,000 income and approx. £3,000 profit through a range of events and fundraising activities organised and run by the PTA.
The main fundraising event of the year was the 2017 Spring Fair which raised over £2,000 profit through a range of activities including food stalls, craft activities for children and a raffle/tombola. It also included a free capoeira workshop for our children.
Ice cream sales / cake sales and school uniform sales have continued to run successfully in our playgrounds and raised over £300 during the year.
The Christmas Fair raised over £400 profit from tree sales, tea towel sales, cake sales, face painting, tree decorations and wreaths.
Black History month also raised £85 in donations and included a Samba dance workshop and traditional food funded by the PTA.
Our inaugural School Quiz raised over £300 profit and we plan to organise more of these events in the future.
Funds have been allocated to a new playground sound system (costing £650) to benefit all the children in our school.
Funds from previous years have been allocated to purchase a mud kitchen and play house, story phones, Shaun the Sheep, various playground items, a Visualiser and classroom speakers.
The target for April 17/18 is to raise £7,000 to continue to help our school transition into the new building.
The PTA continues to fundraise for the new school playground and library and are always open to new ideas or events.
Any suggestions for further expenditure and fundraising activities from parents would always be welcome.
