What is the PTA?
The Dolphin Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) is a voluntary group of which we are all members as part of the school community. It is essentially a fundraising, social and community engagement group for the school.
There are other groups associated with the school who act alongside the PTA as follows:
- Class Reps – a voluntary role to provide two way communication between parents and head teacher/governors. Meeting with head teacher once a term.
- Weekly Wednesday coffee mornings – social and informal gathering organised by the Family Support Worker (Kendal). An opportunity to have a chat with other members of the school community in an informal setting.
- Governors – advice and recommendations to the Directors
The PTA is voluntary, fun and actively supports the children and the school by organising events and raising funds to buy certain items the school can’t buy. It also provides a social hub for parents, carers, children and teachers.
The money we have raised has been used to buy equipment for the school playground, educational equipment and to fund events.
The PTA is also a social hub and we have organised some great events to date including:
